Refute is a small, focused team in London building content authenticity and coordinated-manipulation detection tools for brand safety analysts and newsroom trust editors. We are early-stage, which means the work is substantive and the scope per person is wide.

Machine Learning Engineer

London, full-time. Hybrid (3 days in office).

You will work directly on the scoring models and signal-detection pipeline. The core work is behavioural clustering of account networks and linguistic fingerprinting of content. The position sits at the boundary of applied ML and product: you will build the detection layer and tune it against real cases sourced from our early-access customers.

We are looking for someone with solid experience in network-graph analysis or NLP, who is comfortable working close to the data rather than managing abstractions. Comfort with Python and standard ML tooling is expected. Experience with social-platform data, trust-and-safety systems, or OSINT workflows is relevant and welcome.

Growth and Partnerships

London, full-time. Hybrid (3 days in office).

You will lead outreach to brand safety and newsroom trust teams. The buyer profile is specific: analysts and editors who understand the problem but may not yet have evaluated dedicated detection tooling. The sale is not a demo-and-close cycle; it is a working-session with real URLs and a scored result in the first conversation.

We are looking for someone who has sold technical tools to brand or editorial buyers, or who has worked inside a brand safety or trust team and understands the day-to-day. Pipeline-building from scratch, not inheriting a warm book. You will work directly with the founders throughout the early months.
